Run Disney 2017

Hey everyone!

I'm happy to announce that this year, I will be doing the Run Disney event in Paris again! We will be staying in Hotel Cheyenne from September 21st till September 24th and will be running all three races...

Three races?
Yeah three races! This year Run Disney France is stepping up the game with an extra race! Last year, the 5K was held the Saturday morning, 21K the Sunday Morning.

The program this year:
Friday 22nd of September:    Evening Family 5K - €35 (starting from age 5)
Saturday 23rd of September: 10K - €55 (starting from age 14)
Sunday 24th of September:    21K - €75 (starting from age 18)

There will also be Kids Race around Lake Disney for children age 1 to 12, which is €12 per child. There are courses of 100m, 200m and 1K
Last year's medals for 5K and 21K
Note: Bib only (without hotel) have not gone on sale yet! Patience needed till early June :p

UPDATE: Bib only (no hotel or park entrance included) will go on sale June 14th, 4pm (Paris Time, GMT+1)

Need more challenge?
Run Disney France is offering two challenges this year.
The Castle to Chateau challenge is for international runners who have already finished a Run Disney 21K in 2017. Unfortunately, you are not automatically signed up for this challenge. When you receive your email for the final registration, you'll be able to tick a box that you want to accept the challenge.

The Bibbidi - Bobbidi - Boo challenge is the in-event challenge. If you finish the 10 and 21K within the time limit, you will be able to get this beautiful medal! On a side note: also here you have to sign up in the email before.
These challenges do not cost you extra money, but they do make you a superb extra medal!

Note: Today (17 may 2017) the emails have not been send yet, so a little more patience!

Entertainment
Besides the running events, there is also a RunDisney Health & Welness Expo at the Disney Events Arena in Disney Village, here's where you pick up your bibs and have different stand with merchandise, commemorative frames, ...

On Friday the 22nd, post 5K run, there will also be a Kick Off Party, starting at 9pm till Midnight in the Walt Disney Studios. This is €49 euros to enter, there's nothing known about the program yet, but I will sure update if it is
Captain America made his Parisian debut last year on the Kick Off Party
Characters along the running track
As a professional character hugger, my little heart was so happy to see a lot of characters characters along the course last year. For the 5K there were mostly duos, for the 21K there were whole groups of characters present. I'll give a little overview below:

5K
- Cruella - Jafar - Hook
- Chewbacca & R2D2
- Pooh & Friends
- Thumper & Miss Bunny
- Mary, Bert & 2 pinguins
- Woody & Jessie
- Remy, Emile & Linguini
- Roger Rabbit
- Spiderman
- Mickey & Friends at the finish line

21K
- Spiderman & Captain America
- Chip & Dale
- Mr & Mrs Incredible
- the Aristocats
- Darth Vader & two storm trooper
- Cinderella, Prince Charming, Belle & Prince Beast
- Alice in Wonderland: Alice, White Rabbit, Hatter, Cheshire & March Hare
- Robin Hood & the Sheriff of Nottingham
- Jafar/Jasmine/ Sultan & Aladdin/Abu/Genie
- Dug, Carl & Russell
- Mickey & Friends at the finish line

Photopass
Last year, I got one of the special RunDisney Photopasses, as your normal DLP one is not working for the event.
This year they will propose two kinds
- Run & Parks: as the name indicates, you'll be able to use this photopass for your run photos and for all photopass locations in the parks. It is valid for 10 days and you can add up to 6 bib numbers
- Just Run: on this one you get your running photos only and is only valid for 3 days.

I do recommend buying this (I think I paid 40 euros), as seperate photos are very expensive to buy. You get a digital download for all your photos on the photopass for the prices that would postrace cost you 3 photos. A total bargain, but be sure to strike poses for the photographers when you see them. Below I'll show you a load of photos that I got on my Photopass:

Dress in drag and run around Disney
Yes! Adults can dress up for RunDisney! Last year, my bae Sadness wanted to join me on my 5K, she told me she was actually quite happy to be there...
I'm thinking about outfits for this year, but it's so hard to decide: what do you guys think
- Sadness again
- Edna Mode
- Kevin from Up

Sharing is caring
My favorite thing about RunDisney is sharing it with friends. Everyone was so friendly, I've made tons of new American friends and I can't wait to run this year with my mom, Liesbeth and Hoodsie! A very special and emotional moment last year when my friend Stephen had waited for 3 hours just to see me pass:
