Photo Report - Pairi Daiza 2016

Hi Mad Family!

A while ago, I visited the most beautiful animal park, called Pairi Daiza in Mons, Belgium. This is not your regular zoo, where animals are caged up, this is an actual park where animals are only as secured as they need to be. For example on the monkey island, the monkeys run area freely and come sit on your shoulders as they are harmless. The areas where they live are adapted to the size of the animals and the amount of exercise they need. The animals look so happy and seem to be loving life and are actually enjoying having the people there. Because the minorty of the animals are protected by glass (only the dangerous ones like tigers etc) you feel like you are very close to the animals.

The park is divided as 'Gardens of the World'. So animals who live in  the same area are grouped also in the park. Besides the beautiful animals, it is just a very nice park to walk through with replicas of original buildings from a certain area of the world. So if you're planning on visiting, put on your best walking shoes and breathe in the different cultures of the world.

Probably my favorite thing to do in the park, which you rarely see in a zoo or another animal park, is that there are activities featuring the animals. There are 3 different things you can do: feed some of the animals, see a volture show and go see the Bath of the Elephants. We did the last one of which some pictures are below.
